I’m Nick, an engineering leader currently heading Banking teams at Qonto. I grew into this role over the last decade, starting from fullstack software engineer positions, switching to technical leadership, and reaching a Director position across e-commerce and recently Fintech.
Impact is what motivates me: it started with building websites used by others, and scaled through ensuring uptime of e-commerce sites during Black Friday weekend, to growing people into senior roles across IC and leadership tracks, and structuring teams and organisations while delivering customer and business value.
I recently stepped outside my day-to-day, sharing insights with others as a mentor. Now it’s time to step further out of the comfort zone and start sharing in a more structured form here. My target: one article a month - thoughts, experiences, and practical insights from working with my teams and scaling engineering organisations.
